September pilot cohort

Set up over the summer.
Live in the first fortnight of term.

An eViva pilot is one class and one assessment cycle, arranged in a twenty-minute call. You bring a class and five questions; we bring everything else. At the end you have real recordings, a real evidence pack, and a real basis to decide.

How the pilot runs

Four steps, one term, no cliff edge.

1
Over the summer

A twenty-minute call

We set your account up together, connect your Google Drive, and draft the questions for your first viva. That is the whole setup.

2
Before term starts

A staff-side dry run

You record a test viva yourself on a school device, so the first time a student opens a link, you have already seen every screen they will see.

3
First fortnight of term

Your first live viva

One class, five questions, one-time recording links by email or through your LMS. Recordings land in your own school Drive as they come in.

4
End of the cycle

Evidence review and debrief

You walk the recordings and the session log with your head of department, we take your feedback, and you decide if eViva earns a place next cycle.

What the pilot includes

Everything a first cycle needs. Nothing it does not.

No commitment

One class, one cycle, free

The pilot costs nothing and ends cleanly. No card details for an arranged school pilot, and nothing keeps running if you walk away.

Classroom, CSV, LTI

Rosters without typing

Import your class from Google Classroom or a CSV export. Schoology schools can launch eViva from inside a course through LTI 1.3; Moodle and Canvas by arrangement.

Your storage

Recordings in your Drive, not ours

Student videos upload directly from the student’s browser into your school Google Drive. They never pass through or sit on eViva’s servers.

Moderator-ready

An evidence pack, not a dashboard

Timestamped per-student recordings in a tidy Drive folder structure, a session-integrity log, and a register you can put in front of a moderator.

For your DPO

Send this page to data protection first.

The fastest pilots are the ones where the DPO said yes early. The short version is below; the full detail, including sub-processors and the documents to request, is on the compliance page.

Also see security, privacy, and terms.

  • Students need no accountsStudents record from a one-time link on a school device. No sign-up, no passwords, no app install.
  • eViva holds metadata onlyThe video files live in the teacher’s school Drive under the school’s own retention and access policies. eViva stores assignment metadata and file references.
  • No AI marking, no model trainingeViva does not grade student responses and does not train any AI model on them. Teachers watch the evidence and make the call themselves.
  • EU hosting, UK GDPR postureApplication data is hosted in the EU (Frankfurt). A DPIA template and an Article 28 processor agreement are available before the pilot starts.
